Is your hoop down at your ankles before you can get a rotation in? Does the fear of sending your hoop flying into traffic take over while you’re spinning it on your hand? No worries! These totally normal issues can be fixed in minutes when you learn a few simple tricks to increase your level of control of the apparatus. This class serves as a total beginner’s guide to the art of flow with a hoop apparatus, but also serves as a chance for beginner to intermediate students to practice and ask questions of a performer with a decade in the field.

In the spacious afterglow of peak experiences, this circle offers a gentle and grounded space to reflect, share, and integrate together. As the high frequencies, deep drops, and luminous insights of the weekend draw to a close, we gather to tend the quieter parts of the journey: the return, to a world that has not changed, but we have. Integration is where the real alchemy happens. We weave the threads of transformation into our daily lives, so the magic doesn’t fade when the music stops. Come as you are. Be witnessed. Land softly. You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Freestyle dance is a powerful expression of individuality and creativity that connects the mind and body, fostering togetherness among participants. My journey into this transformative art form has liberated my self-expression and deepened my appreciation for movement. Freestyle invites everyone to explore their bodies and unlock their unique rhythms while creating bonds with fellow dancers.
Body exploration is essential in freestyle dance. Understanding my physicality helped me appreciate my body’s unique qualities, revealing new layers of my dance identity. I experienced lightness and grounding, discovering not only more about myself but also a growing sense of connection with others.
Unlocking your moves involves practice and the right mindset. Freestyle promotes flexibility in both movement and thought. I learned to silence my inner critic and embrace spontaneity, which enabled authentic expression. Engaging with a supportive community allowed us to inspire one another and celebrate our growth together.
The connections I found through dance have been invaluable. Watching others take risks encouraged me to embrace my individuality. This shared experience created an electric atmosphere where creativity and togetherness thrived.
I invite everyone to join me and dive into freestyle dance. Whether you’re seasoned or a beginner, it’s an opportunity to discover your body in motion and unlock the rhythm within you. Freestyle celebrates the endless possibilities that arise from listening to your body and moving alongside others.
Immerse yourself in this world to uncover the joy of dance and deepen your connections with yourself and others. So take that step—let the music guide you, and find your unique dance! Embrace the spirit of togetherness that freestyle dance offers and let’s dance!

YogaPlay with Babs
Yoga Play - knucklewalkingInspired by a haiku-like children’s novel, yoga teacher and practitioner (babs) resonated with the observations of a gorilla in captivity. “Humans just
don’t knuckle walk enough” – Ivan, The One and Only Ivan
Translating this into yoga practice we move through meditation and diaphragmatic activation to support the core in grounding and strengthening asanas to arrive at the exploration our most primal movements (most of us crawled before we walked). knuckle walking, is where we will spend a little time in a playful interlude from our flow.
Connect with your childlike wonder and explore the world of asana through story and play. We will peacefully and gently move back toward our upright lives after a grounding outro of asana and rest.
