Diversity, equality and equity
Everyone belongs here
Future Forest is for everyone. We gather on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people, and we treat this place, and each other, with respect and without exception.
Who it is for
For everyone, without exception
We welcome people of all genders, races, cultures, abilities, and identities. You can be here, be yourself, and ask for help without fear of being judged or profiled. If anything ever feels otherwise, tell us, so we can make it right.
Treated with dignity
Every person is treated with dignity, regardless of race, culture, gender, sexuality, body, ability, or background.
A 2SLGBTQIA+ space
Future Forest is a 2SLGBTQIA+ and all-gender welcoming space, with all-gender washrooms across the site.
Room to land
Quiet zones to step away from the noise when you need them, plus the Tea Hive when you want a calm place to rest.
On the land
We gather on the unceded, traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik people, and we honour the land and the cultures it holds.

Access
Made to work for you
We want the festival to work for as many people as possible. Accessible camping and parking can be reserved in advance through the tickets page. If you have mobility, sensory, or other access needs, email becca@futureforest.ca ahead of the festival and we will do our best to make it work for you.
On stage and behind it
A more diverse festival
Electronic music is rooted in Black culture and nurtured by Black artists around the world, and we want our festival to honour that. We are working to reflect the full diversity of the community that gathers here, on the lineup and on the team that builds it.

More BIPOC artists
We are working to grow the number of BIPOC artists on our lineup, season after season.
More world music
We are actively booking more world music and curating a more diverse lineup.
Diversity in the review
Diversity is part of how we review every artist application, from first listen to final lineup.
Pronouns and self-identification
Our artist applications include pronouns and let artists self-identify, so we can do this work with care.
Guided by a BIPOC consultant
We work with a BIPOC consultant to help us keep growing and hold ourselves accountable.
A team that reflects us
We want the people who build Future Forest to reflect the community that gathers here.
A complimentary Future Pass
Electronic music belongs to all of us. If you are an artist from an under-represented community, you may be eligible for a complimentary Future Pass to join us in the forest.
